Jiading Worker Housing – Shanghai, China

One of Lida Group’s earliest international undertakings involved constructing over 500 prefabricated housing units for migrant workers near Shanghai. Stacked two to three stories with efficiency layouts, the development was later expanded modularly as demand grew. Off-site construction enabled rainy season installation.

ecoHabitat – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Commissioned to demonstrate sustainable design in a tropical climate, Lida Group outfitted shipping containers with rainwater harvesting, solar power and cross ventilation. Their passive strategies regulated internal temperatures naturally without energy bills. Now a workforce training center, the prototype highlighted modular potential.

Emergency Relief Village – Kathmandu, Nepal

Following a devastating earthquake, temporary containerized shelters rapidly housed over 1,000 displaced families with young children for two years through partnership with humanitarian agencies. Medical clinics and communal kitchens maintained hygiene and nutrition. Units were later donated domestically for permanent affordable housing villages.

Belmore Basin Redevelopment – Sydney, Australia

A mixed-use urban infill project transformed an industrial brownfield into a modular sustainable neighborhood including condominiums, shops and parkland reconnecting the community. Standardized modular construction accelerated installation despite pandemic setbacks while cladding recycled local materials authentically into the landscape.

Capitol Hill Offices – Washington, D.C, USA

For a federal client, their design optimized workspace footprints within steel-walled containers stacked up to four stories. Standard floorplates with interchangeable interiors accommodated department rotations constantly. Rapid reconfigurations optimized real estate longterm through a kit-of-parts approach.

These successful international case studies illustrate Lida Group’s proven design-build solutions adaptable across cultures through optimized modular methodologies achieving replicable successes wherever communities emerge sustainably.
