A leading international non-governmental organization has enlisted construction solutions provider Lida Group to rapidly roll out mobile prefabricated temporary accommodations supporting round-the-clock disaster response efforts at a remote refugee container village site.
When monsoon rains triggered landslides isolating the mountainside labor camp community established by Lida for rescued victims, relief coordination required an immediate fly-in solution to house incoming aid workers facilitating Search and Rescue operations.
In just 48 hours, Lida engineered and delivered a unique modular housing convoy integrating retrofitted shipping containers, truck mounts and generator power modules. The self-contained units provided 40 beds, private bathroom pods, a kitchen-dining space and command center.
Trucked directly to the impacted zone, the convoy’s mobility proved invaluable to keep pace with the fluid situation. Container modules were quickly jacked down from vehicle decks and linked to form a self-sufficient base camp within the disaster perimeter.
Relief teams lauded the arrival of the ready-to-occupy accommodations eliminating precious setup delays. From the mobile village, 24/7 Incident Management coordination has continues across medical, shelter, logistics and community support portfolios over a 3 month recovery effort.
Upon mission completion, the convoy will be re-deployed to support future relief operations. The innovative proof-of-concept establishes cargo container prefabrication as an expedient solution enabling rapid safe housing deployment anywhere in the world, from disaster zones to remote field assignments.
Lida’s collaboration with international NGOs now scales pioneering container building applications for vulnerable contexts.Their technical resourcing enhances synchronized response capacity, getting emergency relief tools directly to those who need assistance fast – when every minute counts for saving lives.
